ITINERARY AT A GLANCE

 NOVEMBER 11 (D)

Guests will arrive in Winnipeg by their own arrangements and check-in for the evening at the Lakeview Signature by Wyndham Hotel, located at Winnipeg’s international airport. The group will join their Frontiers North Interpretive Guide for a welcome dinner this evening with time to review the trip itinerary details. Overnight in Winnipeg.

NOVEMBER 12 (B,L,D) 

After breakfast, depart on an early morning flight from Winnipeg to Churchill. Upon arrival we will set out for a Churchill and area photo tour taking the group to local and historical points of interest such as Cape Merry, the Port of Churchill, and Manitoba Conservation’s Polar Bear Holding Facility (weather permitting).

After lunch at a local restaurant, guests can choose to add on a one-hour helicopter excursion. Experience the majesty of Canada’s large eco-system on an hour-long helicopter tour over the desert-like tundra and northern boreal forest. Fly over the Churchill Wildlife Management Area and Wapusk National Park in search of northern wildlife including polar bears, moose, ringed seals, caribou and arctic fox.

In the late afternoon, transfer to the Tundra Buggy dock to board an official Tundra Buggy before making the journey to the Tundra Buggy Lodge. Meet with the Tundra Buggy Lodge staff for a safety briefing followed by a delicious meal prepared by the lodge chef. Overnight at the Tundra Buggy Lodge.

NOVEMBER 13 & 14 (B,L,D)

Following breakfast each morning, the group will depart for a full-day Tundra Buggy adventure exploring the trail network of the Churchill Wildlife Management Area.
Return to the Tundra Buggy Lodge each evening in time for cocktails and appetizers followed by an extraordinary dinner, after which guests will spend their evenings relaxing in the Thanadelthur Lounge, enjoying presentations and visiting with fellow travelers. At night, look to the skies in search of the northern lights. Overnight at the Tundra Buggy Lodge.

NOVEMBER 15 (B,L,D)

Guests will enjoy breakfast this morning before bidding farewell to the Tundra Buggy Lodge and embarking on another full-day Tundra Buggy adventure. Afterwards the group will transfer to the town of Churchill to enjoy dinner together at a local restaurant prior to tucking in for the night in a local hotel. Overnight at a Churchill hotel.

NOVEMBER 16 (B,L,D)

After breakfast the group will head back out onto the tundra for their final full day Tundra Buggy adventure. After a day of exploring the tundra, the group will be transferred directly to the airport for an evening flight back to Winnipeg. A light meal will be served aloft. Check in for the night at the Lakeview Signature by Wyndham, located at Winnipeg’s international airport. Overnight in Winnipeg.

NOVEMBER 17 (B)

After breakfast, guests may depart Winnipeg at their leisure.

ABOUT PHOTO COACHES MICHELLE,  MARK & JEFF

For over thirty years Michelle Valberg has been telling stories with her camera. This eminent, award-winning Canadian Geographic Photographer-in-Residence and Canadian Nikon Ambassador has traveled to all continents in search of adventure and photographic opportunity and is especially renowned for her love of Canada and the Arctic.

Michelle is a sought after speaker, celebrated author, community leader and an advocate for animals, the environment and conservation.

Known for her unique ability to create relatable images of incredible landscapes as well as people and other animals, Michelle seeks artistic expression in all of nature’s most intimate moments. She believes that the world around us mirrors what we see in ourselves… the beauty, simplicity, complications and responsibilities. Michelle believes that nature is a part of who we are and we are part of nature, which is why it’s so important for us to nurture and protect the environment and those living in it.

In 2011, Michelle’s photographs were the focus of a critically acclaimed, three-month solo exhibition at the Canadian Museum of Nature. Her images appear on magazine covers, in numerous exhibitions and embassies around the world. Her iconic image of a Nunavut drum dancer is featured on a coin from the Royal Canadian Mint and her bear images are on four Canada Post stamps.  She is representing Canada at the World Photographic Cup 2022 and was rewarded the Julia Margaret Cameron Award for Women Photographers.

Michele is a rare combination of dazzling talent and dedicated service. In 2009, she founded Project North, a not-for-profit organization committed to delivering education and sport-based opportunities to youth in Canada’s Arctic. Since its inception, $1,000,000 in new sports equipment has been delivered to more than 30 Inuit communities.

She has self-published four books: Look Beyond…The Faces & Stories of People Living with HIV/AIDS, Dare to Dream… A Celebration of Canadian Women, Arctic Kaleidoscope…The People, Wildlife and Ever-Changing Landscape and her children’s book, Ben & Nuki Discover Polar Bears.

Mark Comon is President of PAUL’S PHOTO and founder of Creative Photo Academy.  Mark is an award-winning photographer, world renown educator and industry leading retail professional.

At PAUL’S PHOTO he has led the charge of a single-location family-owned camera store from the days of film to digital and into the online era.  While other brick-and-mortar technology business struggle PAUL’S PHOTO continues to grow and prosper.  Mark speaks often at meetings of retails camera store owners and photo labs on customer service, retail ideas and leadership.

Since 1988, Mark Comon has taught more than two hundred-fifty students per month in his popular classes in PAUL’S PHOTO’S Creative Photo Academy.  As a dynamic lecturer, Comon has entertained and educated audiences from first-time snap-shooters and hobbyists to industry professionals.  He delivers concise information, plain-language explanations, and inspirational images.  In addition to teaching his inspirational programs popular in and out of the photo industry as motivational programs.   

Mark has taken student groups on photographic tours through Europe, Africa and the American Southwest.  Mark’s popular Photo Adventures to California’s natural wonders (Death Valley, Monterey, Eastern Sierra and Yosemite) are always sold out!  Comon has taught alongside many of today’s photographic greats at his workshops in Carmel, Monument Valley and Canyon de Chelly. He is the originator of the Los Angeles Zoo Photo Day, now in its 29th year.  

As a photographic artist Mark’s images have been featured in many local and regional photographic and artistic exhibitions.  His award winning landscape, insightful travel and stirring documentary images capture the light, drama and full range of the human experience. 

Jeff Mitchell has been involved in photography for almost 40 years. He currently works for Nikon Inc as a Senior Account manager. Jeff has been a member of the Nikon team for over 20 years.

Jeff received his BA in photography from Columbia College where in addition to being a student, he managed the facilities and the Photo Teaching Assistant program. After leaving Columbia, Jeff pursued advanced education and enrolled in the MFA  program at Syracuse University.  He went to Syracuse on a full scholarship and he taught there while participating in their MFA program.

He shoots a variety of subjects and is interested in many aspects of photography. Currently Jeff’s subject matter revolves around his family and includes sports photography, Travel Photography and portraiture.

Jeff is well versed in sports, portrait and landscape photography and understand many aspects of Nikon’s system. He has a passion for helping people capture images in their life to preserve and share special moments.

All payments are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Frontiers North Adventures (FNA) requires guests purchase medical, trip interruption and cancellation insurance. Updated rooming lists
must be submitted to FNA 60 days prior to departure date. FNA must have in our possession completed and signed FNA Tour
Registration and Waiver Forms before guests are eligible to participate in any FNA adventure. FNA supplier and logistical arrangements
must be confirmed and paid for prior to trip departure; as a result FNA enforces strict adherence to the above Terms and Conditions. All
